C.E Travis
Creator of CALYPSO
I've started countless projects that have never seen the light of day, but I'm proud to say that this is the first project that I will have fully released commercially. Seeing something that I made come to life is incredible and I can't wait to start on the next one.
I love making art and music and stories, so this project was one big art piece for me. I loved every second, except for the agonizing hours spent struggling with coding (thanks Andrew for the help). I can't wait to work on the next project and I hope to see you there!

Sound
Every art asset you see in the game, was handmade by myself. The UI elements, the character art, the backgrounds. Each piece created with so many hours of hard work put into them.
Programs Used: Procreate, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve (for cutscene editing)
I created each music piece and sound effect and part of the voice acting as well. Many of the songs in game were personal projects I never got to release. I wanted a place to show them off, so that's why I created Calypso. The sound effects were each personally made by hand. The voice acting for Calypso, while I can certainly admit isn't the best, is also my own.

Design
The original design thought was, "What can I code easily, so that I can focus on art and music?" A dating game was the answer. "How can I make a dating game interesting?" By integrating a rhythm game. I then realized I was stealing this concept from my friend Eastin. We spoke and his exact words were: "I'll let you use it, as long as I get to make fun of you for it." So, thanks Eastin, for letting me borrow your idea.
The rest of the design, Calypso as a character, the story as a whole, the lore, how the actual game was going work, was all me baby.

Andrew DPC
Programmer of CALYPSO
CALYPSO marks my second game project to be released for players around the world to enjoy. It has been an incredible experience working alongside Cas and I’ve gained invaluable knowledge throughout the process.
As someone new to the game development scene, working on CALYPSO has been a fantastic learning opportunity. I’ve expanded my understanding of how to create new systems and approach different aspects of game design. It’s been especially rewarding to collaborate with a friend, as we both grew our skills as developers and strengthened our bond throughout this little journey.

Programming
I was responsible for most of the back-end work in Calypso. I handled countless bug fixes, some small, some nearly game-breaking, all to keep the experience smooth and stable. I built the save system from scratch, ensuring your progress and choices are remembered.
One of the biggest thing I worked on was refining the rhythm mini-game. I adjusted how it felt to play and added all the different gameplay modifiers that shake things up during each song.
Lastly, I added the ability to replay levels from the main menu, because I knew players might want to score higher or listen to the music again.
